Amarjot Singh, a security guard in Kelowna, received a hero’s recognition from Kelowna-Lake Country MP Tracy Gray for his brave actions in saving a man from a burning car. Singh was awarded a Parliamentary Certificate for his courageous efforts, which took place earlier this summer.
Singh, employed by Missing Link Security, responded to an emergency call near 988 Frost Rd. just after 2 a.m. on July 22. When he arrived, he found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames with a man trapped inside. Despite the danger, Singh pried open the window and pulled the disoriented man to safety. The rescue occurred just moments before the vehicle emitted a large puff of smoke. Singh had to prevent the man from re-entering the burning car.
Reflecting on the incident, Singh recalled, “He wasn’t coming out at first. I got him out, and then he tried to go back inside the [burning] car.” Singh’s swift response saved the man’s life.

Jamie Alderman, vice president of operations at Missing Link Security, praised Singh’s actions, stating, “I’ve always had confidence in our security supervisors, but Amarjot’s performance under pressure has exceeded all expectations.”
The certificate Singh received, signed by MP Tracy Gray, expressed the community’s gratitude: “Our community is beyond grateful for your unwavering commitment to service. Thank you for your bravery and quick thinking in the face of danger.”
Singh’s heroism has been a significant morale booster for the entire Missing Link Security team, with Alderman emphasizing the positive impact of his recognition on the company.
