In a scene reminiscent of a Paul Blart: Mall Cop moment, a Southern California security guard is now jobless after a video surfaced showing him driving recklessly in a company vehicle at a shopping mall. The footage, which has gone viral on social media, shows the security guard attempting stunts in an Allied Universal vehicle, leading to his immediate termination.

The Incident

The video, first shared on Instagram by south.bay.responders on August 10, captures the security guard driving aggressively around the parking structure of the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California. According to reports from KTLA, the event occurred around 11:30 PM, though the exact date remains unclear.

The footage opens with the security vehicle, a Ford Escape, speeding around parked cars and attempting to perform a slide—a move that didn’t quite achieve any “gymkhana” glory. The guard can be seen recklessly steering the vehicle, narrowly avoiding collisions with other bystanders’ cars. Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” plays in the background, adding to the chaotic atmosphere.

The video also shows another individual in the group climbing stairs on mall property with their vehicle. While the crowd size was small, the actions resembled those seen in takeovers, where participants block public areas to perform dangerous stunts.

Company’s Response

Allied Universal quickly condemned the behavior, issuing a statement to KTLA:
“The behavior in the video is in direct violation of company policy and wholly inconsistent with what we expect from our team members. As a result, the security professional is being terminated immediately and reported to California’s licensing agency.”

A Lesson in Car Safety

This incident serves as a reminder that reckless driving, especially in a work vehicle, is never a good idea. Having fun behind the wheel should be reserved for appropriate settings like a racetrack, not a public shopping mall. And, of course, attempting donuts in your work car is a fast track to unemployment.
