Several sources have confirmed that the city of West Hollywood is breaking ties with Block by Block security services by the end of September after working with the company for twelve years. Employees were informed via email this morning. A new vendor is scheduled to begin similar security services on October 1st.

According to a source, the Block by Block contract was not renewed, and the current terms of service have been on a month-to-month basis. A new vendor outbid for the contract and the new security company will provide their own security ambassadors, so this is not the end of the security ambassador program.

The City of West Hollywood will provide more information on the new vendor and terms of services during the next Regular Council meeting on Monday, August 18, 2025.

First established in the City of West Hollywood in 2013, the West Hollywood Block by Block Security Ambassador program has been providing a visible uniformed presence in the streets of West Hollywood. they work in collaboration with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station to provide supplemental safety services and they get to know West Hollywood’s neighborhoods to assist in providing an extra level of hospitality to businesses, residents, and visitors.
