MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Following the tragic shooting of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, security firms are experiencing a significant increase in demand for executive protection services.
“In all honesty, the phone’s been ringing off the hook for the past day and a half,” said Glen Kucera, president of Allied Universal’s Enhanced Protection Services Division, a firm that provides security solutions to UnitedHealthcare.
Spike in Corporate Security Requests
Although Allied Universal was not previously contracted to provide executive protection for UnitedHealthcare, the company has already reached out for potential services.

“We will be considered going into the future—they’ve already reached out to us, as many companies have,” Kucera confirmed.
Allied Universal isn’t the only firm experiencing a surge in requests. Michael Rozin, president of Rozin Security, also reported an increase in inquiries following the incident.
“We have been very busy,” Rozin told WCCO. “In the last 24-plus hours, we’ve been getting a lot of calls.”
Corporate Leaders Face Higher Risks
Minnesota is home to major corporations such as Target, Hormel, Sun Country, and Ecolab, making executive security a growing concern for businesses in the state.
Rozin highlighted that healthcare executives face a particularly high risk, stating that they are five times more likely to be targeted for violence compared to professionals in other industries.
A Strategic Approach to Security
While the increased demand for security is understandable, Rozin cautions companies against making emotionally driven decisions.
“Don’t just focus on ‘boots on the ground’—take a more holistic approach,” Rozin advised.
Security experts recommend a comprehensive strategy that includes threat assessments, risk mitigation, and crisis preparedness to ensure long-term protection for corporate leaders.
