Police identify man shot to death by security officer near bank in downtown Kansas City

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department identified a man on Wednesday who died Sept. 4th after being shot by a security guard near a bank in downtown Kansas City, Kansas.

Police said the shooting happened just after 3:30 p.m. near Bank of Labor, located at 8th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

Upon arrival, police located Tequan Davis in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.

Davis was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police were looking for Davis’ family, but they have been located.

The shooter remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to police.

No one else was involved in the incident.

Police are investigating what led to the deadly encounter.
