Hundreds of employees across Texas with a national contract security company will be out of work by mid-November.

Job1USA, an Ohio-based firm that provides professional security services across multiple states—including Texas—announced it will lay off 130 employees in the Lone Star State after losing several long-term contracts to competing vendors.  Most of the impacted positions are security guards and other on-site personnel, with all layoffs expected to take effect on November 15, according to a WARN Notice obtained by Chron.

The notice also revealed that the filing was delayed, citing a lack of advance warning from clients who terminated their contracts.

“Job1USA was not formally notified of the contract loss until thirty (30) days prior to the new vendor assuming operational responsibility,” the letter explained. “As a result, Job1USA was unable to provide additional advance notice to affected employees or the Texas Workforce Commission prior to that date.”

Arlington is expected to feel the brunt of these terminations, with 31 employees being let go. Fort Worth and Haslet will each lose 25 employees. San Antonio will lose 18 members of its staff, while Houston and Round Rock will each lose 13 workers, respectively.

A section of the WARN Notice also specifies that “none of the employees affected by the mass layoff are represented by a union, and no bumping rights will exist.” This means the impacted employees don’t have union protection or collective bargaining power and won’t have the option to transfer into other roles to keep their jobs.

Founded in 1951, Job1USA provides staffing, recruitment, and security services for industries including manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and government contracting. The company operates in several states with offices across the Midwest and South, offering both temporary and permanent staffing solutions to large corporate and public-sector clients.
