A Walmart security guard is recovering after being pistol-whipped while trying to stop a shoplifter in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred when Darnee Drinks attempted to steal $1,808 worth of merchandise. As the security guard approached her, Drinks pulled a gun from her purse and tried to load it, sparking a physical altercation.
According to the police report, Drinks struck the security guard in the head with the weapon during the struggle. However, the guard managed to disarm her, with the help of a bystander who kicked the gun away.
The altercation didn’t end there. After her arrest, Drinks kicked an officer and caused an additional $1,500 in damages while inside the patrol car.

Walmart declined to comment on its security protocols, but customers like Jimmy Mitchell, a frequent visitor, expressed surprise at the incident. He noted that while he feels safe inside the store, the event was a reminder to stay alert.
Drinks is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, theft, and assaulting a law enforcement officer.
