A San Francisco security guard, Carlos Jimenez, has filed a lawsuit against several companies, alleging negligence that resulted in significant personal injuries. The complaint, lodged on September 16, 2024, in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, names 600 California Owner, LLC; Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc.; and Township Building Services, Inc. as defendants.

The incident occurred on September 22, 2022, when Jimenez was working at 600 California Street. According to the lawsuit, Jimenez slipped on a liquid substance while exiting the control room after responding to an alarm. The fall caused serious injuries, which Jimenez attributes to the defendants’ negligence. “The liquid substance on the floor of the Subject Premise… caused Plaintiff to slip and fall,” the complaint states, pointing to unsafe conditions as the cause of the accident.

Jimenez asserts that the defendants had a duty to ensure the premises were safe but failed in this responsibility. The complaint highlights that 600 California Owner, LLC owns the property, Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. manages it, and Township Building Services, Inc. is responsible for janitorial services. The lawsuit claims these entities should have known about the hazardous condition and failed to address it. “Defendants breached their duty by failing to properly maintain the Subject Premises,” the complaint alleges.

The lawsuit seeks general damages for pain and suffering, as well as special damages for medical expenses, lost wages, and reduced earning capacity. Jimenez is also requesting pre-judgment interest and coverage for court-related costs.

Attorney Jeremy R. Cronin from Gomez Trial Attorneys is representing Jimenez, with the case assigned as Case No.: CGC-24-618119, pending judge assignment.
