A security guard at a Walgreens located at the intersection of Elysian Fields and St. Claude in New Orleans was caught on video shooting a man who stabbed wheelchair-bound woman, allegedly.
The incident was captured by a driver near the intersection in the 7th Ward. According to witnesses who spoke with WDSU, the man stabbed the woman multiple times in what appeared to be an attempted robbery.
Following the incident, the security guard was briefly detained for questioning and later released, according to officials.
Local residents believe the man involved may have been experiencing a mental health crisis. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) reported that the man, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
