BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A man was shot after making an attempt to take a security officer’s weapon in the Old Goucher neighborhood, according to police.

At about 8:10 p.m., Northern District officers were sent to the 2000 block of Maryland Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.

Police say officers were informed that a man tried to take a security officer’s weapon. After a short struggle, the security officer gained control of the weapon and fired at the man.

The man fled the scene and walked into a local hospital for treatment and suffered a graze wound to the abdomen.

Police were then sent to the hospital and now the man is in custody.

Northern District Shooting detectives have assumed control over the investigation.
