Kensington Palace is increasing the protection of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after two security breaches last month.
On the morning of Christmas Day, an intruder armed with a crossbow breached Windsor Castle grounds.
It came after police shot dead a suspected gunman near Prince William’s west London residence, where he lives with Kate Middleton and their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.
It appears to have prompted Historic Royal Palaces to recruit a new guard to help protect the young royal household.
The role will involve supporting the team in ‘making Kensington Palace a safe and secure place to work and visit’ and safeguarding it from ‘the threats of intrusion, theft, damage, fire, flood and other situations’…..
